Our Prayer - Josh Groban and Charlotte Church   Download Here

I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know

Let this be our prayer
As we go our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your Grace
To a place where we’ll be safe
La luce che to dai

I pray we’ll find your light
Nel cuore resterò
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarchi che
When stars go out each night
L’eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c’è
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace

Give us faith so we’ll be safe.
Sognamo un mondo senza più violenza

Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità

La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
E’il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a sé
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salverà

The light that you give us
Will stay in our hearts
 Reminding us

That in my prayer
You are an everlasting star

There’s so much faith
We dream of a world with no more violence
A world of justice and hope
Grasp your neighbour’s hand
As a symbol of peace and brotherhood
The strength that you give us

Is the wish
That everyone may find love
In and around himself

And the faith that
You’ve lit inside us
I feel will save us

A Touching MoralFebruary 24, 2008 5:25 am

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.  He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door. Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk; He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?" "You don’t owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness." He said, "Then I thank you from my heart."  As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was also strong.  He had been ready to give up and quit.

Year’s later that young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease. Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to the case. After a long struggle, the battle was  won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words….. "Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank you, God, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."

A Touching Moral 5:11 am

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow…He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Time went by… the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree every day.

One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.  "Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy. "I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore." The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them."  "Sorry, but I don’t have money…  but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money."

The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad. One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. "Come and play with me" the tree said. "I don’t have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?"  "Sorry, but I don’t have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house." So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.

The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.  One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said.  "I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?"  "Use my trunk to build your boat.  You can sail far away and be happy."  So the boy cut the tree trunk to make a boat.  He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don’t have anything for you any more. "No more apples for you… "The tree said.”I don’t have teeth to bite" the boy replied.

"No more trunk for you to climb on"

"I am too old for that now" the boy said.

"I really can’t give you anything … the only thing left is my dying roots" the tree said with tears.  "I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." The boy replied.

"Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest."  The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears…….

This is a story of everyone. The tree is our parent. When we were young, we loved to play with Mom and Dad…When we grown up, we leave them… only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could to make you happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that’s how all of us are treating our parent. Please enlighten all your friends boyfriend, girlfriend, lovers and/or families by forward this mail to them. And love your parent.

pearl“If there is no struggle there is no progress”

An orthopedic surgeon will tell you that a broken bone, if healed properly, is stronger that the original bone.

Did it ever occur to you that without rocks and pebbles in stream there would be no music of running water? It’s the obstacle in the path of water that causes the babbling brook.

If a stream is to be made useful and serviceable, what is the first thing to be done? The hidden power of the water much be released. Immediately an obstacle must be in its path – a dam must be built.  That water is them backed up and given depth.  Now the strength of its flow generates power.  As a result factories can be operated and goods produced.  The water now has begun to provide useful service.  But remember, could have become useful in this manner without the obstacle in path?

You and I must form the habit of accepting discouragement and hardship as only greater opportunities.  Just as there is no physical on earth strong enough to hold moving stream, there is no obstacle strong enough and powerful enough to hold back the stream of life.  It the sand didn’t irritate the oyster, there would be no pearl.

A Touching MoralFebruary 10, 2008 2:20 am

One, data an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students, and to drive home a point he used and illustration to those students that they will never forget.

As he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers, he said, “Okay, time for quiz.” He then pulled out a one-gallon wide-mouth mason jar and set it on the table in front of him.  Then, he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one by one, into the jar.

When, the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, “Is this jar full?” Everyone in the class said “YES” then he said “Really?”

He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel.  Then he dumped some gravel in and shook the jar, causing pieces of gravel to work them down into the space between the big rocks.  Then he asked the group once more. “Is this jar full?” By this time the class was on to him.  “Probably not,” one of them answered. “Good!” he replied.

He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand.  He started dumping the sand in the jar and it went into all the spaces left between the rocks and the gravel.  One again he asked the question.  Is this jar full?” “NO” the class shouted. Once again, He said Good!

Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it in until the jar was filled to the brim.  Then the expert in time-management looked at the class and asked, “What is the point of this illustration?” one eager beaver raised his hand and said” The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard, you can always fit some more things in it.”

“No,” the speaker replied, “That’s not the point. The truth this illustration teaches us is this:  If you don’t put big rocks in first, you’ll never get them in at all.” What are the big rocks in your life? Your children, your spouse, you loved ones. Your friendship. You education. Your dreams. A worthy cause.  Teaching or mentoring others. Doing things that you love. Time for yourself.  Your health. Remember to put these BIG ROCKS in first, or you’ll never get them in at all.

If you sweat the little stuff(i.e., gravel, the sand) then you’ll fill your life with little things you worry about that don’t really matter, and you’ll never have the real quality time you need to spend on the big, important stuff (the big rocks)

What about you? Asked your self: What are the “big rocks” in my life?

A Touching MoralFebruary 3, 2008 9:02 am
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.  She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.  She was tired of fighting and struggling.  It seemed some problem solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen.  She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire.  Soon the pots came to boil.  In the first she placed CARROT, in the second she placed EGGS, and in the last she placed GROUND COFFEE BEANS.  She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.  In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.  She fished the carrots out and place them in a bowl.  She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.  Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see"

"CARROT, EGG and COFFEE", she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to fee the carrots.  She did and noticed that they are soft.  The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it.  After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.  Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee.

The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.  The daughter the asked, "What does it mean, mother?"  Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity… boiling water and each reacted differently.

The CARROT went in strong, hard and unrelenting.  However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softens and became weak. The EGG had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting thought the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The COFFEE BEANS were unique, however after they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” She asked her daughter “when adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

THINK OF THIS: which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wild and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart but the changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trials have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart? Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain.  When the water gets hot it releases the fragrance and flavor.  If you are like the bean, when the things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.

When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, egg or coffee bean?

Count you blessing, no your problem…. Putting others first makes relationship last.

A Touching Moral 7:43 am
A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old University lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work.

Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cup (porcelain, plastic, glass, come plain looking and some expensive and exquisite) telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "if you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.  While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problem and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other’s cups."
